The main function of any light fixture is generating artificial light when needed. With the endless variety of sizes, colors, shapes and types it is very difficult to decide on that unique combination of functionality and style we are looking for. Proper lighting design can add a perfect compliment to the character of the room.
There are several types of residential lighting fixtures. Some of the most popular are:
Recessed lights – mounted flush with the ceiling, only exterior trim and light bulb is exposed, diameter may vary.
Track light or track lighting fixture – installed on the wall or ceiling, sometimes suspended on additional hardware; track rail serves as a power source and supports multiple heads which can be pointed in different directions
